The Midwest Mellow crew is gearing up for a MASSIVE year on the road in 2022! Between local shows, classes, build plans and on the road shows we just might be home a week a month at this point but its all for the sake of GLASS ART!

Follow us on our ventures through the states as we gear up May 17th - 24th For the Degenerate Flame Off in Portland, OR. Here we will showcase our gear in front of thousands of the industries top artists and start to bring a name to the Midwest glass art scene in other parts of the nation.

We have had a long time preparing for this event and are super excited to get this show under our belt and see how we can grow and move from there. Stay tuned for more updates as we move closer to the show dates.

As the snow melts away and the days get warmer, Midwest Mellow and affiliates are looking to bring the spotlight to high level glass art focusing on form and function here in Iowa. The Midwest Mellow Meltdown will be an all age celebration focusing on glass and other variations of multimedia artforms from artists throughout the country and locally.

At this galleria style event you will be able to view high end functional glass art sculptures displayed by Des Moines very own Unkl Ruckus's Smoking Emporium & Skate Shop and its event partner, Ames local and fellow glass enthusiasts, High Class Glass. These pieces will focus on not only the beauty of the medium at hand but the functionality that can be adapted to these pieces in the creative process. The Meltdown will also be promoting the creative works of Ames local muralist, painter and event co-sponsor Siricasso next to some of Iowa’s most talented up and comers in art mediums all around from music to visual and glass art!

Please join us April 23rd from 6:00pm to 10:00pm for a celebration of glass art and creation at the very first Midwest Mellow Meltdown right here in Ames at Lakewood Cafe! Drinks can be bought on site by those 21 or older with food available on site for purchase as well. We hope to see all of you very soon at the very first Midwest Mellow Meltdown and as always stay mellow my friends!
